
Senior Production Manager - B Shift - WATERLOO (IA) PORK PLANT

- Control expenses and assist in expense management.
- Ensure compliance with federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements.
- Interpret and enforce company policies.
- Maintain the non-union program.
- Assist in determining manpower needs and make recommendations.
- Prepare and maintain prescribed records and reports for accurate reflection of conditions.
- Solve problems effectively with sound follow-up.
- Collaborate with department heads to meet production quality yields and metrics goals.
- Ensure maintenance of labor standards and quality of performance and product.
- Inspect and maintain high competence in housekeeping, safety, sanitation, security, and food safety.
- Manage, evaluate, and train production supervisors.
- Oversee all designated shift operations.
- Undertake any other responsibilities deemed necessary by the plant manager.
- Education: High School diploma with equivalent experience or college degree preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years meat industry experience; 5+ years supervisory experience in a meat processing facility (pork or beef preferred); knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations.
- Computer Skills: Standard computer skills.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Capable of communicating effectively with all levels of Team Members, from hourly to upper management, and government officials.
- Leadership, problem-solving, and team player skills.
- Manage subordinate supervisors.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Interview, hire, and train team members.
- Plan, assign, and direct work.
