
Plant Maintenance Technician II

- The purpose of the Plant Maintenance Technician is to perform general building repairs, basic utility installation and preventive maintenance tasks of plant facilities
- Ability to perform all aspects of Plant Maintenance
- Perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks
- Dismantle, move, install or repair machinery and mechanical equipment
- Layout, assemble, install, test, repair and adjust electrical fixtures, apparatus, equipment and wiring.
- Ensure that all work conforms with requirements of all applicable codes
- Install power and air drops to equipment
- Perform general building repairs (electrical, mechanical, plumbing)
- General pipefitting work
- Remove snow from walkways and steps using all means provided and necessary
- Makes sure that general supplies are maintained and well stocked and kept in an orderly fashion
- Assumes leadership role in department and helps guide lesser experienced individuals to prepare them for higher level positions
- Keep maintenance areas clean and organized; ensure tools and equipment are stored properly
- Respond to service requests and work orders as assigned
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols
- Escort vendors or contractors as required and assist with setup for projects or repairs
- Additional duties as assigned by Maintenance Group Leader commensurate with experience and skills
- Physical demands require the person to regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- The person is frequently required to lift 50 pounds or greater, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to hear and talk.
- The work environment will expose employee to the following elements: Noise, Heat, Cold, Dust, Oil, Grease
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- 3-5 years prior Plant Maintenance experience
