Nursery Production Assistant - Pope Farm Nursery

- Operate power equipment (i.e. mowers, backpack blowers, weed eaters, skid steer loaders, small tractors and other miscellaneous nursery and grounds maintenance equipment)
- Container and bare root tree and shrub liner planting
- General care and maintenance of container plant material and field grown trees
- Support in facility grounds maintenance related tasks
- Irrigation system use and monitoring (in-ground trees on drip system)
- Pulling and loading tree/plant orders for customers
- Application of herbicides using small sprayers and tractor mounted equipment
- One year of experience in groundskeeping, nursery, landscape or 1 year of schooling in a horticulture related field desired.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Primarily works outside. Exposed to weather, dirt, waste, odors, pesticides, wildlife, and potentially harmful insects (for example, bees, hornets, wasps, etc.).Hourly pay rate is $18.00 - $21.00Supplemental Information

- This position does not include benefits.
- The position is part-time and could be year- round or optional March thru October. Work schedule is weekdays Monday through Friday with some flexibility as determined by hiring manager.

This equates to 1,560 hours over a 12-month period.If and when you are eligible for benefits, you will receive notification directly from the Health & Benefits Office.Eligible Employees Pay 35% of the health insurance plan premium and The Commission Pays 65%.
