- Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground telecommunications lines.
- Climb poles and operate bucket trucks or lift equipment to access aerial lines.
- Pull, lash, strand, and splice coax and fiber optic cable according to specifications.
- Install and maintain hardware, terminals, closures, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret work orders, maps, and construction drawings.
- Perform troubleshooting and testing to identify and resolve service issues.
- Ensure all work meets industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Operate and maintain vehicles, diggers, and line equipment in a safe manner.
- Respond to service outages, storm damage, or emergency repairs as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and test results.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or apprenticeship preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in telecommunications line work or related field preferred, however training is available if needed.
- Knowledge of aerial and underground telecommunications construction practices.
- Familiarity with fiber optic and coax splicing methods preferred.
- Ability to climb poles and work at heights up to 100 feet.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred. Must have a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of OSHA and industry safety regulations.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and emergency response.
- Must be able to pass a DOT Physical.
- Telecommunications Line Skills: Demonstrates proficiency in installing, maintaining, and repairing telecom systems.
- Safety Compliance: Consistently adheres to company and OSHA safety protocols.
- Equipment Operation: Skilled in operating bucket trucks, climbing gear, and diagnostic equipment.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Identifies issues quickly and applies effective solutions.
