Required: Bachelor’s degree and/or combined experienceJOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective: This position is responsible for the operational oversight of school kitchens throughout Greeley-Evans Weld County School District 6 (including Charter Schools). Responsibilities include: employee training, supervision and evaluation; implementation of USDA regulations, departmental and food safety practices; interviewing and hiring; monitoring of kitchen profit and loss and production levels; and overall general support of kitchens and staff.Essential Functions:
School Kitchen & Community Support
  • Conducts regular site visits to ensure sites have the tools and resources needed to successfully complete their jobs and that standard operating procedures are being followed. Provides training as needed to guarantee understanding and compliance with guidelines.
  • Responds to inquiries in a timely manner to assist staff and administration. Uses positive verbal and non-verbal skills at all times when working with district personnel and community members.
High Level Operational Oversight
  • Understands, implements, and monitors USDA, state, local, district, and departmental regulations, policies, and procedures for the Child Nutrition Programs and other programs offered. Maintains current knowledge of nutrition
  • specific technology platforms.
  • Is involved in the employee selection process, orientation and permanent staffing placement at individual kitchen sites.
  • Reviews various reports for profit and loss, production, inventory, staffing, etc. Develops, improves, and coordinates training methods for employees, and sets goals with individual kitchens toward specific improvement.

  • Places focus on cultural competency, diversity, equity, inclusion and access.
  • Participates with departmental task forces and committees to engage in planning and goal setting to ensure long term positive outcomes for the organization overall.

Visual, auditory, and ambulatory acuityTravel: Local travel between sites is required. Occasional travel to professional development events will be required.
