- Lead the mechanical design and development of consumer products, focused on hardgoods.
- Conduct feasibility studies, concept development, and prototyping to validate design ideas.
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) to create engineering drawings and specifications.
- Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and analysis to ensure product performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless integration of mechanical components.
- Conduct testing and validation of prototypes to ensure product performance
- Identify and resolve design issues, technical support throughout the product lifecycle.
- Stay up-to-update with the latest trends and technologies in consumer product development.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (completed and verified prior to start)
- Three (3) years of mechanical design and development of consumer products in a private, public, government or military environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) for 3D modeling and drafting.
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Experience in mechanical design and development of consumer products, with a focus on hardgoods.
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
- Familiarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Experience with rapid prototyping techniques (e.g., 3D printing).
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work in cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
