
Laborer - Utility (Equipment Shop)

- Perform tasks involving physical labor on the project
- Assist mechanics, oilers or duties at the shop - maintain shops, yard maintenance.
- Load and unload trucks of equipment and supplies
- Flagging traffic passing near, in, or around work zones
- May operate hand and power tools, yard mowing, landscaping maintenance.
- Clean and prepare equipment yard to eliminate possible hazards
- Perform work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, wind, etc.)
- Adhere to all safety guidelines set forth in the company's safety program
- Lifting, pushing, and/or pulling items up to 50 pounds
- Perform other labor-related duties as instructed by the supervisor
- Laborer around the plant, including but not limited to: shoveling, running the water truck to fill holding tanks operating lawn mowers, weed eaters, sweeping and housekeeping of the shop and yard
- Clean equipment and trucks as needed - detailing, shuffling trucks to shop for repairs
- Power wash and steam clean heavy equipment.
- At least 1-year experience in working around heavy equipment, shop operations or maintaining equipment or facilities.
- Physical ability to perform assigned tasks (lifting to 50 lbs, bending, stooping, climbing, standing, etc.)
- General labor skills
- Basic knowledge of operating hand and power tools of all types
- Knowledge of operating a variety of other equipment and instruments is a plus
- Be willing to work days and/or nights as needed and expect shift change with little or no warning
- Be physically fit to do hard manual laborer
- Must be competent with a shovel and chipping hammer
