- Resolve product quality issues identified by Operations, Service and Customer. Acquire detailed product knowledge by examining schematics, specifications, and consulting other engineers who have knowledge of the products.
- Perform reworks on printed circuit board assemblies
- Select and qualify electronic components to handle obsolescence. Work with component engineers and planners to ensure that the production line is not impacted by obsolescence issue.
- Design or modify test fixtures needed to validate electronic module design changes.
- Responsible for the quality of work, reliability, schedule, and cost to support the project manager, and delegation of tasks on one or more modules.
- Interface with contract manufacturers and the global supply chain team as needed for any of the responsibilities listed.
- Follow established processes/procedures to maintain high quality output of all projects undertaken.
- Responsible and accountable for carrying out the requirements of the company's quality system.
- BSEE from an ABET accredited institution or Associate Degree in Electrical engineering and minimum of 7 years working as an engineering technician
- 5+ years’ experience in developing or modifying schematics and specifications to make changes for quality, cost, or obsolescence purposes.
- 3+years’ experience with electronic troubleshooting equipment including oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
- 3+ years’ experience using common bench test equipment.
- 3+ years’ experience using PC based design tools Altium, Orcad (Altium preferred)
- 3+ years’ experience with circuit analysis tools such as SPICE or HyperLynx
- Experience with power supplies design/modification desired.
- Experience writing and debugging test scripts – Ruby preferred, other languages acceptable.
- Knowledge of standard buses including PCI Express, USB, I2C, high speed transceivers, advanced memory interfaces (e.g. DDR3) desired
- Knowledge of EMI requirements, e.g. IEC 60601-1-2 and techniques to solve EMI issues is desired.
- Must be disciplined in following established procedures/processes.
- Must possess the capability to work independently with little or no supervision.
- Must be able to excel in a cross-functional team environment.
- Must have the ability to maintain a broad perspective while focusing on a specific area of the project.
- Must have excellent technical writing skills to develop electronic module qualification plans and reports.
- ISO, FDA or other regulated industry training and experience are highly desired.
- Industry exposure to international contract manufacturing is highly desired.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
- $97,000.00 - $120,000.00/yr. depending on experience (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary range).
