AOP provides therapy services that are designed for adults who are experiencing a mental health condition, including severe and persistent mental illness, or have experienced trauma, including loss and grief, depression, anxiety, abuse histories and addictions, using evidence-based practices and the latest research-supported interventions to restore and improve the quality of life for each individual served. These services can be provided in clinic or via telehealth.The Clinical Assessor- Adult assesses adults with emotional and behavioral health issues, including severe and persistent mental illness. The Clinical Assessor- Adult provides comprehensive behavioral health assessments for adults by completing a comprehensive Bio-Psychosocial in conjunction with other assessment tools in order to assess treatment and other needs, determine appropriate levels of care and diagnosis to establish medical necessity. This includes diagnosing and assessing needs related to Social Determinants of Health, crisis intervention, treatment planning, and any needed referrals. The Clinical Assessor- Adult will operate in an Open Access environment under a Certified Community Behavioral Health (CCBHC) model. The Clinical Assessor- Adult ensures assessments are delivered using standards of trauma informed care principles, and that plans and clinical interventions address issues regarding how trauma impacts individual and family functioning, and that plans and interventions use trauma resolution skills. The Clinical Assessor- Adult ensures that services are tailored to the unique culture of the client. This is an office-based position. The Clinical Assessor- Adult is responsible for meeting an annual client facing client care number of 1,316 hours annually. Achieving the minimum required weekly, monthly and annual client facing client care hours is an essential function of this position.Directions for Living is an essential services provider. All Directions for Living employees must be willing and able to provide vital support and essential services to the people that we serve in the event of an emergency, pandemic or other disaster situation. Essential employees will be required to work in the field, depending on the needs of the community during the time of an emergency.EDUCATION EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field required, licensed or licensed eligible in one of the healing arts, is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of two years' relevant clinical experience in working with at-risk SPMI and ED for Adult and Child clients is required.
  • Knowledge of DSM-5TR and ICD-9 diagnostic codes preferred.
  • Experience conducting biopsychosocial assessments and/or crisis evaluations in clinical, community, or hospital settings is preferred.
