- Providing on-call technical assistance, solving customer service queries, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues (through phone and email submission). (25%)
- Due to the nature of the systems support, some instances of on-call support may require emergency technical assistance outside of traditional work hours.
- Conducting regular maintenance and testing of deployed systems. (25%)
- Helping with planning, preparation, and fielding of new systems. (25%)
- Updating technical documentation and reference materials. (15%)
- Other duties as assigned. (10%)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems (or equivalent experience).
- Proven background in providing IT-related customer support.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Hardware and network troubleshooting.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to learn and understand new concepts quickly.
- Familiarity with the following technologies: Ubuntu Linux, Secure Shell (SSH), Microsoft Windows Server IIS, Microsoft SQL Server.
- Administration and support of Linux systems, especially from the command-line.
- Software troubleshooting and debugging, and coordination with software developers to identify and resolve problems.
