For more information review the NEOGOV andGeneral ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Director of Specialized Transportation, the School Bus Driver will transport students with disabilities on "to and from school" routes.Regular School Bus Drivers will work 20-25 hours per week and are eligible for our standard package of benefits; retirement, medical, dental, and vision insurance offered at affordable premiums, an employee assistance program, and much more!Our fleet contains smaller buses which means smaller passenger counts.Salary: The full hourly range for School Bus Drivers will be $29.59 - $33.73. Offers are made at the entry level of the range. Candidates that must complete full driver training will receive a substitute driver pay to start.We are also recruiting for Substitute Drivers. The full hourly range for Substitute School Bus Drivers will be $27.41 - $27.95. Offers are made at the entry level of the range.We are primarily recruiting for work in Klickitat county. Our vehicles are located in White Salmon, WA and Goldendale, WA.

Essential Functions/Other FunctionsEssential Functions: * Operate a school bus in accordance with the State of Washington laws and policies promulgated by the Superintendent of Public Instruction.
  • Maintain accurate and legible records of daily bus logs and other required documents.
  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative communication with students, parents, school staff, peers, and supervisors.
  • Supervise and maintain control of students.
  • Participate in staff meetings, inservice programs, workshops, and seminars.
  • Drive school bus on scheduled routes and/or all trips and approved activities, both within and outside district boundaries.
  • Inspect, clean, and request maintenance service for school bus and related equipment as required by ESD 112 policy.
  • Report unsafe acts or conditions which require the attention of any person other than the driver.
  • Read and interpret maps and street guides.
Other Functions: * Other duties as assigned.Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & SkillsMinimum Qualifications:
Meet and continue to meet minimum school bus driver requirements pursuant to WAC 392-144-101 including but not limited to: * Minimum age 21.
  • One year experience as a driver of a truck or commercial vehicle or at least five years of experience as a driver of a passenger vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills: * One year experience in transporting students with disabilities.
  • Authorized Washington State school bus driver.
  • Work or volunteer experience with preschool-12th grade children.
Working Conditions/Employment RequirementsWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements: * Operates school bus under a variety of road conditions.
  • Strength and ability to assist students with physical disabilities in embarking and disembarking a bus; including moving and positioning special needs equipment.
  • Travel to school districts to cover routes.
  • Regular attendance during schedule work hours.
Employment Requirements: * Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through WSP and FBI.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a valid state class 'C' commercial driver's license, with passenger and school bus endorsement and air brake restriction removed, according to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Part 391.
  • Possess current Washington state school bus driver authorization (WAC 392-144-101).
