When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity) Qualifications:Minimum Experience: Bachelor’s degree required. One to two years’ experience as a Sterile Processing Technician, with previous charge or lead technician experience. Registered Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CRCST) preferably with IAHCSMM (International Association of HealthCare Central Services Materials Management). Proficiency in computer, word processing and spreadsheet programs is helpful.Minimum Experience: One – two years hospital experience in Sterile Processing or Operating Room. Materials Management experience is a plus.Required Certification/Registration: Registered Certified Central Sterile Technician.Physical Demands: Standing, walking and sitting much of the day. Often has to lift and carry supplies and trays weighing up to 25 lbs. and may need to push heavy supply carts through hospital corridors. Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling and reaching are required. In addition, performs normal office activities.Working Conditions: Works in an area with no outside exposure; area is air-conditioned; frequent exposure to water and cleaning solutions, exposure to chemical hazards, contaminated items, blood, body substances, infectious materials, vibration, radiation, slippery surfaces, or noise that may result from performance of duties.Employees Supervised: Central Supply Technicians, and OR RNs, and OR Technicians with respect to reprocessing.Degree of Supervision Required: Minimal.
