Job Title: Electronic TechnologistLocation: Charlotte, NCJob Summary and Description:Provides technical assistance and advice to Engineers, Project Managers and Program Managers with minimal supervision. Provides data and analysis and develops systems that impact R&D results and improves internal efficiencies in key areas. Functions as a senior technical advisor to various technical personnel in the area of laboratory analysis and testing. Has considerable freedom in planning work and carrying out assignments. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments. Performs engineering or scientific services that may include but are not limited to the following (in compliance with current industry and Government practices):Tests and evaluationTechnology planningSystems architecture developmentRequirements developmentConcept developmentSystems design, development and integrationSystems operation and constructionIntegrated logistics supportModeling and simulationEducation:Certification and/or Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:5-7 years prior experience as a technician in at least one of the primary engineering or scientific disciplines.Must be able to set up, assemble, install or build components of experimental apparatus or equipment.Expertise in an area and significant experience and training related to using specific tools, techniques and processes.The ideal candidate has:Experience with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and/or high-voltage laboratory testingKnowledge of high-altitude electromagnetic pulse (HEMP) or other types of intentional electromagnetic interference (IEMI)Knowledge of IEC and MIL EMC standardsExperience with electrical test equipment (oscilloscopes, d-dot probes, fiber optic modems, etc.)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsHands-on aptitude and desire to perform physical work in an outdoor laboratory settingKnowledge of signal and data processing with Matlab or PythonAdditional Job Information:
