MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:High School Diploma or GED Certificate.6 - 12 months experience in automotive/mechanical work.Enrollment in the Apprenticeship Program is required in accordance with standards.Knowledge of basic computer skills.Valid Driver's License, CDL Learner's Permit or CDL Class "A" with Hazmat Endorsement (subject to motor vehicle record review). Required to obtain a CDL Class "A" with Hazmat Endorsement within (6) months from date of employment.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:Assists other mechanics by cleaning, greasing, and oiling company vehicles.Repairs or replaces parts on vehicles and equipment as instructed.Assists and performs preventive maintenance on company vehicles, equipment, and specialized equipment, as assigned.Realigns front end and balances wheels.Assists automotive mechanics in servicing and repair of heavy equipment.Assists in cleaning the shop and surrounding areas.Removes or disassembles worn parts.Uses Authority-owned equipment in a manner which subjects it to normal wear and tear only.Observe Navajo Tribal Utility Authority's Safety Policies for safe work environment.Perform basic customer service policies.Maintaining inventory of Preventive Maintenance and related parts.Submitting daily vehicle maintenance reports to planners.Performs other related duties assigned or required.Navajo Preference Navajo Veteran Preference This institution is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
