Position SummaryThe Sonographer performs all diagnostic ultrasound examinations that create the images needed for diagnosis. The Sonographer integrates scientific knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and useful diagnostic information.Primary Position Responsibilities1. Performs all ultrasound procedures (Vascular, as appropriate) including patient positioning, machine set-up, image acquisition, measurements, and post-processing.2. Follows all National Patient Safety Goals.3. Provides recordkeeping of patient history and symptoms.4. Reviews orders, explains procedure, answers questions and provides a high level of patient satisfaction.5. Assists physician in the performance of invasive ultrasound procedures, if applicable.6. Maintains cleanliness of department and assures adequate supply inventory.7.
