Summary : The Paramedic performs in a nursing support role with a variety of direct care functions under general supervison by licensed team members including RN, Physician, and/or APC.Job Description:SCHEDULE:12-hour MID shiftNo Weekend Requirement!2-3 holidays per year requirementUNIT DETAILS (Emergency Department- Neenah Hospital): The Neenah Emergency Room is a Level II trauma center as well as a comprehensive stroke center. The care team in the department is highly trained in all aspects of patient care but excels in our primary mission of both trauma and neurological emergency care. The department has 13 beds with 2 dedicated trauma rooms with a focus on timely, patient centered and collaborative care.Key AccountabilitiesReceives direction and assignments from licensed team members and provides technical support to optimize patient careReports on the condition of the patient to the appropriate licensed team members to ensure safe, quality patient careCompletes accurate documentation in the electronic medical record Reinforces patient education performed by the RNAssists with patient transport to other departments as needed based on patient conditionAssists with maintaining a safe and clean environment to perform patient careAdministers medications under the general supervision of the RN or Provider in accordance with the ThedaCare-approved Paramedic medication listQualificationsCompletion of Paramedic ProgramAmerican Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hireParamedic license for the State of WIAmerica Heart Association ACLS & PALS within 6 months of hireFor the Oshkosh Expansion Hospital and ThedaCare Medical Center Fond Du Lac: High School diploma is requiredPhysical DemandsAbility to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistanceJob classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job dutiesWork EnvironmentFrequent exposure to sharp objects and instrumentsOccasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.Occasional high noise level in work environment.Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents.Occasional contact with aggressive and or combative patients.Use of computers throughout work dayFrequent use of keyboard with repetitive motion of hands, wrist and fingersScheduled Weekly Hours: 30Scheduled FTE: 0.75Location: ThedaCare Regional Medical Center - Neenah - Neenah,WisconsinOvertime Exempt: No
