- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or equivalent required
- Master's degree preferred, specifically in the areas of supply chain or business administration (MBA)
- Five or more years of experience in direct material sourcing/procurement management in a global environment, with demonstrated expertise sourcing with global suppliers, including India and or China
- Demonstrated success leading global sourcing projects with cross-functional teams to deliver results. Commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills and listening skills that allow being able to work with people in all levels of the organization and external customers.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports summarizing findings, data insights, and engineering recommendations.
- Solid analytical skills and communication, with the ability to structure, collect, analyze and communicate data, with good judgment and decision-making skills. Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills. Ability to work across different cultures. Fluency in Mandarin and or Hindi is required.
- Racine, Wisconsin. Travel required for customer and Twin Disc entity visits both domestically and abroad
- CPM/APICS certification and knowledge of lean manufacturing strategies a plus.
- Strong knowledge of complex manufacturing, with specific emphasis on metal casting, forging and machining, including knowledge of key suppliers, pricing structures, industry trends and best practices.
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for Twin Disc manufacturing.
- Assume project responsibility for the identification, qualification, development and management of suppliers in Asia with primary focus on China.
- Assist with employment of sourcing teams in China and India.
- Act as primary contact in resolving supplier issues, as well as in supplier negotiations and contracts.
- Develop ongoing working relationships with design engineering to drive standardization in design and sourcing across the commodity.
- Support the development of a quality initiative within purchasing, to ensure best practices within the global purchasing departments.
- Work harmoniously, cooperatively, and courteously with others at all times.
