
Maintenance Technician West Plant

- Ensure work activities are in compliance with SHE, production requirements, and quality requirements (per Maintenance Procedures and OEM requirements) • Perform skilled maintenance repairs of equipment and visually inspects and test equipment for proper functionality • Ensure reliable operation of machinery by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following procedures, diagrams, sketches, repair manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair malfunctioning equipment to meet operational and quality requirements. May discuss machine operation variations with supervisors, other maintenance workers, or operations to diagnose problems and repair the equipment • Assist Operations, as needed, to perform operational tasks • Locate sources of problems by observing equipment in operation and using senses and/or precision measuring and testing instruments • Detect and repair defective parts and/or materials • Determine changes in dimensional and/or process performance of parts/equipment through precision instrumentation. • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tool • Assemble repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations • Ability to write routine reports and correspondences • Complete end-of-job documentation to communicate reliability improvement data as well as job package productivity improvements • Desire to work in a team environment and contributes to the team by accomplishing individual and team tasks • Willingness to work across craft lines and multi-craft with other disciplines as needed to address Maintenance/equipment-related issues • Willingness to flex to other crews as needed to meet schedule requirements • Ability to work flexible work hours, including overtime, call outs and shift as needed • Willingness to rotate job assignments as well as perform other tasks as requested by supervision • Desire for excellence and continual improvement as an individual and for the team
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent - required
- Qualifications and experience are preferred to be one of the following:
- Degree through a recognized Trade School, Certification (NCCER, NICET, NETA, ISA, Relevant Military) or Equivalent and 3 years relevant experience
- Associate's degree in Discipline and 2 years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Discipline and 1 year of experience
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician with knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Computer skills (i.e. Typing, SAP knowledge, etc.)
- Strong analytical problem-solving and planning skills
- High personal motivation and ability to work independently and as a team
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues, independently or through a team process
- Willingness to be flexible with job responsibilities and to learn new tasks, take on challenges & seek information from others
- Willingness to work in a Multi-Craft environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills to interact with peers and production personnel
- Desire to safely perform essential job functions
