- Plans, implements and supports application software, hardware, operating systems and / or distributed clinical information systems of moderate scope and complexity. Contributes to estimates of resource needs and scheduling of system upgrades and modifications.
- Works on initiatives to analyze workflows and to develop and define IT solutions for improved system integration and functionality. Assists with creating processes and initiatives that support the office culture and organizes health record tools and data.
- Oversees parts of multiple large scale, complex initiatives and contributes to the development of new projects at all levels of scope and complexity. Performs systems analysis, planning and preparation, testing, implementation and client / vendor coordination. Estimates project time requirements, addresses gaps, and participates in feasibility assessments.
- Designs and conducts user training in information system workflows and processes, hardware and / or operating systems at all levels of complexity. Develops effective tools and aids for systems training.
- Troubleshoots escalated issues of moderate complexity and scope with software, hardware, operating systems and / or distributed related information systems. Identifies and coordinates service and support as needed between clinical or business engineering, IT, networks, and outside vendors. Proposes new solutions in regards to workflows, processes, system designs or developments as needed.
- Participates in development of complete, concise and comprehensive polices and operation procedures to assist in communicating issues to management staff
- Realigns based upon business and clinical needs. Looks for new opportunities to address customer service challenges. Documents issues and develops / communicates plans to address.
- Collaborates with other team members and key stakeholders to build test plans for integration testing and modify workflow due to new releases and system upgrades. Liaison between vendors and IT leadership. Works with project and infrastructure team to manage and maintain test environments. Creates detailed application designs conforming to application architecture guidelines.
- Develops and modifies system configurations complying with design needs. Includes analyzing design alternatives and making appropriate design decisions. Designs, validates and confirms new or modified functionality. Provides demonstrations of system functionality.
- Works closely with business users and applications team to design, build and execute a comprehensive integration and user acceptance test plan and scripts. Reviews and tests new builds and releases prior to implementing in the production environment.
- Plans and develops improvements in functionality and efficiency of applications.
- Identifies, documents and cross-coordinates reporting needs. Maintains system documentation to enable ongoing support of the system.
- Partner with clinical leaders and end-users to assess needs, gather requirements, and develop scalable solutions for ambulatory surgery and anesthesia workflows.
- Maintains day-to-day tracking and follow-up on issues and questions of daily operations, includes tracking, updating, and resolving issues.
- Proactively identifies impact of changes upon other applications and downstream systems.
- Collaborates on role-based training programs to support the workflows to be implemented.
- Conducts and/or participates in in-service and various educational programs for professional development.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Healthcare, Nursing, Business, Computer/Information Sciences or 4+ years of related experience in lieu of degree.
- 6+ years of relevant work experience
- Including 3+ Years’ Epic experience (if focus on Epi Optime and Anethesia) and/or 4+ Years’ related IT experience (EHR, QSI/CPS, Cloud9, ASP.NET, SQL, C#, Framework 2.0 or higher, developing .NET 2.0+, AJAX, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, CSS, SQL Server, other development related).
- Strong understanding of functionality related to the application workstream.
- Strong computer skills including Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, and others related to job duties.
- Must be able to provide on-call support (24/7) and work after hours and weekends as needed.
- At least 2 Epic Certification in job related workstream.
- Additional certifications in relevant Epic modules ( if focus on Epic OpTime and Anesthesia
- Experience in business information system management in a healthcare setting.
- License and certifications: Any certifications relating to software applications, technology infrastructure and/or clinical specializations.
- Knowledge of Dental operations and structure, general requirements in an integrated delivery system, and use of IT applications in the practicing healthcare environment.
- Broad knowledge of 1-2 areas of focus in clinical or business application specialty area(s). Knowledge of systems and functions, including design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation.
- Ability to apply skills as a seasoned applications professional to projects of medium size at all levels of complexity, or portions of large projects.
- Experienced professional who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field; independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; possesses broad job knowledge; analyzes problems / issues of diverse scope and determines solutions.

- Ability to work with senior staff and managers, serving as a technical resource and providing advice and counsel on issues of functionality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, policy, and performance.
- Understanding in the implementation and/or maintenance of EHR systems.
- Technical expertise in subject matter areas demonstrated by documented experience in analysis, process design and workflow, research, installation/implementation and support of EHR systems.
- IT or functional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: clinical, revenue, or operations.
