- Assist with employee health screenings, medical surveillance, and pre-employment evaluations.
- Support occupational health staff in providing basic care, first aid, and wellness education.
- Conduct supervised testing and documentation for compliance with safety and health standards.

- Enrolled in a nursing program (ASN or BSN)
- Basic knowledge of patient care and clinical procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Organized and detail-oriented with good documentation skills
- Perform direct patient care activities such as blood draws, injections, and vital sign monitoring, gaining hands-on clinical experience under the supervision of occupational health nurses.
- Assist with the administration of pre-employment and periodic physicals, including vision and hearing screenings, ECG/heart monitoring, and documentation using electronic health records.
- Support the fitting and education of custom-molded earplugs and new hearing protection devices, learning OSHA standards and long-term noise exposure risks in industrial settings.
- Conduct supervised drug and alcohol screening procedures including breath alcohol testing (BAT) and urine drug screens, following chain-of-custody protocols and maintaining regulatory documentation.
- Provide wound care and basic first aid to employees, restock and maintain first aid kits across the facility, and assist with heat stress monitoring during high-temperature work conditions.
- Coordinate with medical professionals for new hire appointments and manage care for work-related injuries and worker’s compensation cases in compliance with occupational health protocols.
- Participate in back-office support functions including organizing clinical supplies, scheduling appointments, and preparing treatment areas for daily operations and emergency response readiness.
- Lead or contribute to educational health and wellness initiatives such as energy drink alternatives and silica exposure prevention, focusing on behavioral safety and long-term worker health.
- Convert and organize paper-based medical and safety logs into digital formats, such as confined space entry records, to improve accessibility and compliance documentation.
- Develop strong interpersonal, technical, and organizational skills through real-time collaboration with medical staff, employees, and safety teams while preparing for careers in nursing or advanced medical practice.
