The Radiology Aide at Prevea Health assists the radiology department by preparing patients for procedures, assisting technologists, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities.What you will do
- Room radiology patients by greeting the patient in the waiting room, showing them to the changing room, instructing them on how to change for the exam, taking patients history and transporting patients to exam rooms.
- Maintain exam rooms and equipment to be within infection control standards by following proper cleaning protocols. Ensure appropriate levels of supplies for each room by stocking and ordering when needed.
- Record, process, and maintain patient data within the electronic medical record and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Including the importing of outside images into PACS and make appropriate changes/merges. Burn CD's for patient's continuing care and enter Release Of Information
- Use radiation safety measures and protection devises to comply with government regulations to ensure the safety of patients and staff
- Schedule and check in patients as they arrive. This can include verifying necessary information.
- Enter x-ray orders into Radiant (RIS)
- Maintain General Imaging & Mammography schedule, looking up prior exams in various data bases, and requesting outside studies when necessary
- Prepare x-rays/CD's to be sent to other Prevea sites and outside facilities using proper consent forms
- High School Diploma and/or GED Required
- 1-3 years Experience in customer service, insurance and/or healthcare setting Preferred
- Work independently or as a team player with a caring attitude for patients and co-workers
- Medical terminology related to radiology is desired.
- Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.

- CPR/BLS Certification-Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification from an approved program. Required
