More than 3,500 employees, 400 multi-specialty physicians, and over 100 volunteers have helped to support the hospital in delivering quality, patient focused care to the Texoma region for over 50 years.The LVN/LPN Urgent Care - Durant, Oklahoma position is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties which include:
  • Assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
  • Interviewing patients, measuring vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture and procedure as directed by the physician.
  • Documentation is recorded in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with IPM guideline.
  • Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Assists in covering the front desk as required.
  • Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response.
  • Delegates as allowed under the Nurse Practice Act. Refers to and consults with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns.
  • Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. QualificationsEducation:Completion of LPN/LVN nursing training from an accredited school of nursing. Minimum of one (1) year college or Technical School.
