
Architecture Discipline Lead

- Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a growing architectural team in the Atlanta Buildings+Places (B+P) practice.
- Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.
- Requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of architecture design, production, coordination, and construction administration processes.
- Plans and organizes architectural tasks and processes for design, code review, quality control, documentation, and construction administration.
- Maintains relationships, liaisons, and coordinates with other discipline leads in the Atlanta B+P practice. Coordinates with other AECOM business lines in the Atlanta office on opportunities and cross business line pursuits.
- Maintains and develops existing and new client relationships and actively participates in business development activities for the office.
- Responsible for identifying the scope, contractual issues, determining the work and financial plans for all architectural pursuits.
- Work closely with the Managing Principal to determine the strategic direction of the architectural team and pursuits in coordination with the other disciplines in the Atlanta B+P practice and the Southeast region.
- Provides mentorship for architectural staff and identifies career growth opportunities for the architectural staff in the Atlanta B+P practice.
- Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
- BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Professional License as Architect (RA) is required.
- 12+ years of experience managing projects, staff, clientele.
- Experience with and managing large-scale projects.
- Previous experience with software platforms including Office, Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe, Projects and/or similar.
- Demonstrated leadership in client facing roles and negotiations.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing contract terms, scope of work, fees, and proposals.
- Demonstrated experience in managing the growth of an architectural practice and managing architectural teams.
- Architectural project management experience in federal, civic/municipal, higher education, and/or transit/aviation experience.
