The Director of Transportation acts as a liaison between the Transportation Department and parents, students, teachers and school administrators to ensure its smooth running. Supervision is exercised over the work of Bus Drivers, Mechanics, and other Transportation Department personnel. Must be eligible through the City of Ithaca Civil Service for appointment as a Transportation Supervisor.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: If the position involves the operation of a school bus, then the following special requirements apply: Applicants must possess a valid NYS Class B Commercial Driver License or a Commercial Driver License equivalent to a NYS Class B Commercial Driver License at the time of appointment and must maintain said license for the duration of employment.
