- Design mechanical components for sensor integration, compute enclosures, thermal management, and structural assemblies.
- Develop detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks or equivalent tools.
- Work closely with build technicians to prototype, iterate, and validate designs on physical vehicles.
- Write and manage component- and system-level mechanical requirements in collaboration with systems engineers.
- Support root cause analysis and hardware debugging during vehicle testing and validation.
- Contribute to DFM/DFA, GD&T, material selection, and mechanical risk assessments (e.g., DFMEA).
- Collaborate with electrical, systems, and software teams to ensure seamless mechanical-electrical integration.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 6+ years of industry experience in mechanical design, preferably in automotive, robotics, or aerospace.
- Proficiency in CAD (preferably SolidWorks) and experience with version-controlled design.
- Strong hands-on experience building and testing hardware - you're work well both at the desk and in the shop
- Working knowledge of requirements development and systems engineering practices.
- Familiarity with mechanical testing, vibration analysis, and thermal design is a plus.
