OverviewWe are seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support large, complex programs by providing expertise in planning, scheduling, cost engineering, and earned value management (EVM). This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in project controls who can work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality results.Depending on experience, this position may be filled at the Project Controls 2 (intermediate) or Project Controls 3 (senior) level.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and monitor project schedules using industry-standard scheduling tools.Perform cost engineering functions, including estimating, cost control, variance analysis, and financial reporting.Support earned value management (EVM) processes to ensure compliance with federal standards (EIA-748).Assist with change control processes, tracking project performance metrics, and reporting on project variances.Partner with project managers, stakeholders, and technical staff to provide project performance insights.Ensure projects are executed in alignment with scope, budget, and schedule requirements.At the senior level, lead project controls efforts independently, serve as a subject matter expert, and provide mentoring to junior staff.QualificationsRequired (all levels):Bachelor’s degree in a related field (business, engineering, finance, or similar) or equivalent experience.Hands-on experience with project controls functions in scheduling and cost engineering.Proficiency with scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6) and business tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks under strict deadlines.Additional for Level 3 (senior):6+ years of relevant project controls experience.Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage complex projects independently.Experience presenting project performance to senior management and stakeholders.Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement skills.Desired SkillsExperience working in an earned value management (EVM) environment.Familiarity with cost control software (e.g., Cobra).Experience supporting large-scale, federally funded, or highly regulated programs.Knowledge of compliance frameworks related to project management and reporting.Powered by JazzHR
