
Product Engineer II – ArcGIS Utility Network Documentation

- Work with a team of dedicated software engineers and product engineers to design and author test cases
- Collaborate with software engineers, product engineers, and other stakeholders to test ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Enterprise functionality related to Utility Network capabilities across the platform, including Geodatabase, Enterprise Databases and Data Store, as well as data management services such as: Utility Network service; Feature service
- Learn existing product technologies and troubleshoot production issues in current and past software platform versions
- Document software issues found during testing; reproduce bugs and work closely with Software Development Engineers to resolve these issues
- Write reference help documentation in our content management system about ArcGIS Utility Network, Esri's advanced network data model and comprehensive framework for managing utility networks such as electric, gas, water, stormwater, wastewater, as well as telecommunication networks
- Create and maintain blog articles, videos, guides, and tutorials that provide guidance, best practices, and applied workflows for utilities and telecommunications
- Test new features to ensure new workflows and endpoints are accurately represented for all supported versions and products
- Triage and address customer reported documentation issues
- 2+ years of experience in similar software engineering environment and/or professional writing related experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for innovative data visualizations and storytelling
- Enthusiasm for creating workflows, demos and giving presentations
- Ability to translate complex concepts into clear, concise, compelling content
- Effective time management and organizational skills; work proactively and volunteer assistance without being asked and under tight turnaround
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in an agile environment with a fluid mix of collaborative and independent work
- Bachelor's in GIS, cartography, computer science, English, or related field
- Master's in computer science, engineering, geography, GIS, mathematics, or related field
- Professional writing related to utilities or telecommunications
- Experience with ArcGIS software
- Experience with relational databases
- Familiarity with an application development language such as C#, Java, C++, or Python
- Familiarity with the Agile software development life cycle
- Exposure to DITA-based content management systems to create and publish documents
- Basic understanding and experience with GitHub (issue management, pull requests, GitHub Actions)
