The Dialysis Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients undergoing dialysis treatment for kidney failure or other renal conditions. This role involves assessing patient needs, administering dialysis treatments, monitoring patient responses, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care.Key Responsibilities:Supervisory Responsibilities:
- CMA/Dialysis Tech on duty.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for dialysis patients.
- Prepare patients for dialysis treatment, including physical assessments and education on procedures.
- Operate and monitor dialysis machines and related equipment.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments during dialysis.
- Monitor patients during and after treatment, identifying and responding to adverse reactions or complications.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Collaborate with physicians, nephrologists, dietitians, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families about kidney disease, treatment options, diet, and ongoing care.
- Ensure all infection control protocols and safety procedures are followed strictly.
- Support and mentor new staff or nursing students as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Must successfully pass background checks and drug screen.
- Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in dialysis or nephrology nursing preferred but not always required Current or willingness to obtain BLS certification.
- Current registered nurse licensure in state of North Dakota
- Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) or Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) preferred.
