- Complete customer and Collins delegate source inspections prior to shipment.
- Verify product and process compliance with respect to contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and internal policies.
- Familiarity with product inspection and provide support in the quality function.
- Experience or ability to gain Preliminary Review (PR) & Material Review Board (MRB) authority to disposition nonconforming material.
- Able to interpret engineering drawings & specifications.
- Capable of acquiring an FAA ODA certification to support shipments of commercial parts that meet FAA-PMA requirements.
- Provide support relative to the collection and analysis of quality data.
- Ensure identification, physical control, and disposition of non-conforming material and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) when necessary.
- Support status meetings with the distribution center management, factory management, hourly employees, and internal stakeholders to manage issues.
- Support work instruction development and maintenance activities by reviewing work instructions, compliance procedures, auditing processes, and assuring configuration management.
- Development and maintenance of inspection instructions, ensuring inspection instructions meet the technical data package requirements and meet production and customer requirements.
- Regularly interface with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)
- Regularly interface with the Federal Aviation Association (FAA)
- Conduct weekly meetings to help reduce cost of poor quality and facilitate timely dispositions.
- Provide support relative to the collection and analysis of quality data.
- Develop and analyze statistical data and product / process performance to recommend and implement improvements in targeted areas of the organization.
- Provide expertise, participate in, and implement process improvements.
- Travel required: 10%
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.
- Minimum of 1 year in a quality role.
- Aerospace industry experience
- Engineering, Manufacturing or Quality experience
- Experience with quality management systems such as AS9100, ISO, Conducting Internal Audits
- Experience with FAA 14 CFR Part 21 & 14 CFR Part 1
- Be on a career break of one or more year at time of application
- Have prior experience in functional area of interest
