Job Description:This role is focused on technical claim handling of U.S. and international casualty claims. In this role you will learn to manage general liability, employer's liability and auto claims. The individual will be accountable for the handling and disposition of claims including primary and excess coverage. Candidates will learn all facets of investigation, coverage determination, reserving, negotiation and settlement and overall claim strategy for high severity/complexity claims. The position may require up to 25% travel, (International travel will be limited). You will represent the company at claim review meetings with management and business partners in addition to being a U.S. claim resource to our global claim offices and underwriters.If you do not already have one, you will be required to obtain an applicable resident or designated home state adjusters license and possibly additional state licensure.Qualifications:Ideal candidates will have at least 10 years claim handling experience handling progressively more complex claims.
  • Automobile and General Liability (GL) experience in Products, Premises Liability and Employers Liability. Experience handling international claims is desired, but not required.
  • Strong background and demonstrated ability in dealing with significant coverage matters.
  • A thorough understanding of the tenants of insurance and legal principles.
  • Knowledge of P&C Group coverage and services.
  • Working knowledge of industry best practices and procedures.
  • An ability to work independently and assimilate learning materials on many different subjects from various sources.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skills; and an ability to deal with customers and business partners in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work with minimal management oversight and make prompt, intelligent decisions based upon detailed analysis of complex issues.
  • Demonstrated strong relational skills particularly in adverse or high-pressure situations.
The pay range for the role is $80,500 to $137,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and other factors.
