Technical AccountingGeneral Summary:The Staff of Technical Accounting is a key contributor of the Corporate Accounting Practices and Reporting group. This role is responsible for:Preparing and filing quarterly, annual, and other financial reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).Collaborating closely with Qualcomm's business units and corporate functions to determine and document the proper accounting treatment of complex and/or new types of transactions.Leading projects to assist and advise business units and corporate functions on accounting for acquisitions and dispositions, implementing new accounting guidance, etc.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical accounting and financial reporting, including 5+ years of experience in a Big Four accounting firm. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently, and the capability to influence key organizational decisions.Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 5+ years of Technical Accounting, Financial Reporting, or related work experience.
*Completed advanced degrees in a relevant field may be substituted for up to two years (Master's = one year, Doctorate = two years) of work experience.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in tech industryExperience working in a large, matrixed organizationTechnical leadership role with or without direct reports5+ years in a Big Four Accounting firmCPA Certification or country equivalentExperience with XBRL taggingAptitude for systems (e.g., WDesk, Oracle, HFM, Microsoft) and accounting process flowsLevel of Responsibility:Works independently with no supervision.Decision-making is critical in nature and highly impacts program, product or project success.Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey highly complex and/or detailed information.
