Job Title Program Aide - TemporaryAgency Texas A&M UniversityDepartment Physics and AstronomyProposed Minimum Salary CommensurateJob Location College Station, TexasJob Type Temporary/Casual Staff (Fixed Term)Job DescriptionGlimpse of the JobThis temporary Program Aide will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of a new upgraded CMS detector and the analysis of the CMS data.Opportunities to Contribute:Install and commission an upgraded CMS detector.Analyze CMS data.Analyze research and summarize results by publishing in peer-reviewed journals and through conferences and committee participation.Mentor graduate and undergraduate students.Qualifications:Master's in Physics.A well-qualified candidate will also possess:Data analysis at a major high energy physics experiment, software development, statistical methods.Experience developing or commissioning detector hardware and electronics.Computing and software skills in C++, python.Understanding of computing software development in the HEP environment, familiarity with machine learning (ML) techniques and experience with using ML software packages (e.g. Keras, Pytorch)Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.What You Need to Do:Select the Apply button to begin your application!
