The Project Manager for New Program Development will provide coordination and oversight for the planning, development, and implementation of new programs at the College of Southern Idaho (CSI). This position will be responsible for guiding new program proposals from concept to approval, including managing accreditation requirements, preparing State Board of Education paperwork, coordinating with faculty and administrators, monitoring catalog accuracy, and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards. The Project Manager will play a critical role in advancing CSI’s mission of expanding access to high-quality educational opportunities aligned with regional workforce and community needs.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the development of new programs, from initial planning through final approval.
  • Coordinate program feasibility studies, needs assessments, and labor market analyses to ensure alignment with student demand and industry needs.
  • Prepare and submit required documentation for Idaho State Board of Education and Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) accreditation.
  • Assume responsibility for the College of Southern Idaho Three Year Plan (through the State Board of Education)
  • Collaborate with faculty, department chairs, and deans to develop curricula, learning outcomes, and program structures.
  • Manage timelines, budgets, and reporting for new program development initiatives.
  • Take responsibility for procurement of supplies and organization of physical space needed for new programs.
  • Develop and maintain internal processes and templates for program expansion to streamline approval workflows.
  • Facilitate communication among stakeholders (including Technical Advisory Committees), ensuring transparency and shared understanding of progress and requirements.
  • Monitor and coordinate instructional catalog updates with careful attention to faculty and programs.
  • Monitor and report progress to CSI leadership, making recommendations for adjustments as needed.
QualificationsRequired:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, business, public administration, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, program development, or higher education administration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare complex reports and proposals.
  • Knowledge of (or willingness to learn) accreditation processes and state-level education governance.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple departments on campus.
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for seeing a project through from start to finish with minimal supervision.
Preferred:
  • Master’s degree in education, public administration, or related field.
  • Experience with higher education program approval processes, including State Board of Education and regional accreditation.
  • Familiarity with workforce development and community college mission.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar credential.
Working Conditions
  • Full-time, 12-month position with some evening or weekend work as required.
  • May require occasional travel for training, accreditation site visits, or Board of Education meetings.
