- Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts.
- Work with both technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content of large programs design.
- Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model.
- Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical).
- Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.
- Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes (for model development, tool integration)
- Human Factors (HF) specializations include software (UX, human computer interaction), hardware (human factors, anthropometry), HF computer modeling (NX/Jack, IMPRINT), or design for maintainability (prior experience as a maintainer or experience working in the area).
- Author/support the development of requirements that are compliant with Human Factors best practices and specified sections of MIL-STD-1472G
- Human Factors Analyses (including, but not limited to: task analyses, predictive workload analyses, interface prototyping and analysis, and design-for-maintainability (DFM) analysis)
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
- Conduct computer-based (NX) and empirical accessibility assessments
- Author/support the program documentation of the HFE processes and products in a format consistent with US Military Data Item Descriptions (e.g. Human Engineering Program Plan, Human Engineering Design Approach Document – Operator, Human Engineering Design Approach Document – Maintainer, Human Engineering Test Plan, Human Engineering Test Report, etc.)
- Cross-IPT Collaboration
- Design and develop workstation geometry and layout controls and displays to accommodate the full anthropometric range of expected users.
- Educational background in psychology, human factors, user experience, graphic design, industrial design, or HCI-related field from an accredited university, and at leas 5 years of related experience; OR at least 3 years of relevant experience with a master’s degree; OR at least 1 years with a PhD degree
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
- Experience conducting HFE analyses on complex systems
- Experience in fast-paced work environment and ability to work in a team environment
- Strong understanding and broad application of complex engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.) for the development of complex systems of systems.
- Large scale / complex system development experience across multiple phases of a development program: preliminary design, detailed design, integration and test, verification and sell off, transition to production.
- Experience with implementing and using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools, practices, and methods.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Human Factors, or similar, degree
- Experience with Human Factors in a defense contracting environment (familiarity with Mil-Std-1472G and ANSI/HFES 100-2007)
- Knowledge of anthropometry and human factors
- Familiarity with Human Factors modeling in NX/Jack, IMPRINT"
