
Stationary Engineer

- Ability to provide excellent customer service and communications.
- Responsible for performing and reporting inspections to ensure that all equipment, machinery, and building systems function as usual, safely, and in compliance with all applicable safety rules and regulations and manufacturer specifications.
- Operate, maintain, and repair all boilers, heaters, pumps, valves, appurtenances, and lines used in the distribution of steam and heated or processed water.
- Operate, maintain, and repair refrigerant compressors, condensers, evaporators, traps, transfer pumps, expansion valves, stop valves, and float valves, as well as all refrigerant lines and devices used to control temperature.
- Operate, maintain, and repair pumps, handling brines, or other secondary refrigerating liquids together with all valves, appurtenances, and lines used in the system ·
- Operate, maintain, and repair air compressors, distribution lines, and all valves and devices for air control.
- Operate, maintain, and repair all natural and manufactured gas distribution lines, including all valves and control devices.
- Operate, maintain, and repair all types of electrical motors and engines used to power pumps, compressors, and fans ·
- Operate, maintain, and repair fuel oil systems, including pumps, valves, lines, controls, and fuel tanks.
- Operate, maintain, and repair sanitary sewer systems, including sump pumps, basins, water closets, urinals, and piping.
- Maintain electrical power distribution and auxiliaries for the building’s lighting, mechanical, plumbing, and control components, including lighting maintenance and repair.
- Maintain proper Operation during seasonal changes and recalibrate controls based on seasonal conditions to ensure energy-efficient Operation.
- Maintain all equipment as required per the Preventive Maintenance program.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by Management.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of related work in maintaining and repairing HVAC, electrical, and power production systems.
- Experience with pneumatic VAV and Direct Digital Control systems is highly desired.
- A minimum of three years of experience operating medium—to high-temperature boilers, chillers, and related equipment is required.
- Experience with emergency diesel generators and switchgear is preferred.
- Experienced in working with all types of power hand tools.
- Knowledge of using a personal computer, including the Windows operating system, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
- Must understand the processing of service work orders (DMOs).
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and communications.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to 50 pounds.
- Some climbing and balancing.
- Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
- Generally, the job requires 15% sitting, 40% walking, and 45% standing.
- High noise levels are a standard feature of general maintenance.
- Must have the ability to maintain assigned work hours.
- Must have sufficient endurance to perform tasks over long periods.
- Limited physical accommodation is available.
- Work requires exposure to heat/cold, noise, dust, mist, and/or fumes.
- Requires the ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Work hazards include electrical shock, confined spaces, and noise hazards.
- Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening and drug test.
- Must obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) per contract.
- Must complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.
- Must be a legal U.S. Resident per contract.
