- 3+ Years of hands-on primary care clinical experience is required (experience excludes clinical rotations/clerkships). We will consider candidates who have completed a residency hands-on training program of 12 or more months' duration.

- Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population. Consult with staff physicians as needed.
- Furnishes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions, within their scope of practice.
- Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
- Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives. Continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
- As appropriate to the position, participates in specific health promotion, education, and/or prevention programs.
- Assists in the ongoing development and implementation of performance-improvement activities such as quality assurance, peer review, and staff development.
- Maintains a professional relationship with staff and patients.
- Assists in the coordination and integration of all health clinic outreach programs as directed by the Medical Director.
- Performs other related and/or necessary tasks to achieve clinic goals and objectives, as directed by the Medical Director.
- In addition to regularly scheduled shifts, is able to work a minimum of three (3) 4-hour Saturday shifts per calendar year, providing medical care to patients within the standard scope of practice. The requirement begins after the 90-day training period. The requirement begins after the 90-day training period, and compensation for coverage will be outlined in the offer.
- In addition to regularly scheduled shifts, is available to respond to after-hours calls regarding critical lab results for adult patients throughout the organization for a minimum of 2 weeks per year, which includes pager responsibilities. Requirement begins after the 90-day training period, and compensation for coverage to be outlined in the offer.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have a current California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant medical license to practice.
- Must have a current California license issued by the Board of Registered Nurses/Medical Board of California.
- Current registration issued by the DEA allows the prescription of drugs.
- Current BLS certification and current national certificate.

- Experience using electronic health care records Epic highly desired.
- Computer skills required.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Sensitive to the needs and situations of a multi-cultural population from a variety of income levels.
- Prolonged standing and walking
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
