Industrial HygienistLocation:Stillwater - Nye, MTSchedule:5x2, 4x3 9hr ShiftsJob Responsibilities and Duties:The successful candidate will lead in the development, management and continual improvement of the Occupational Health Module within the G.E.T. Safe - Safety and Health Management System to maintain compliance with Company, State and Federal Regulations. The Industrial Hygienist develops and maintains programs through field exposure evaluations using various sampling techniques. This enables the continued health and safety of employees, protects business interests as well as meets regulatory requirements for control of workplace health exposures. Safety related duties will include, but are not limited to, planned inspections, training, supervisor coaching, and program developmentQualifications and Skills:
  • Communication skills and the ability to work with multiple departments (Geology, Engineering, Production, Development, and Maintenance) to direct and plan activities in a professional and expedient manner.
  • Firm understanding of personal and area IH practices that include noise, air and wipe sampling.
  • Knowledge of fundamental Industrial Hygiene sampling practices for DPM, dust, noise, welding fumes and other common health hazards.
  • Knowledge of ergonomic principles and ability to conduct workplace assessments.
  • Ability to work independently with self-direction.
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule as necessary.
  • The ability to effectively communicate and train other employees.
Education & Experience
  • A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field;
  • 6-8 years safety and health experience in the mining industry
  • CAOHC certification
  • CIH certification (or ability to apply for CIH with additional experience)
  • NIOSH approved Respiratory Surveillance Technician Certification
  • Underground MSHA instructor card
