This entry-level role is responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of electronic systems and equipment used across campus facilities. The technician plays a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of mission-critical infrastructure through hands-on support and collaboration with senior technicians and engineers.Typical duties include but are not limited to:
  • Assist with installation, setup, and calibration of electronic systems including communication and control equipment
  • Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance on electronic devices
  • Troubleshoot and repair basic system faults under supervision, using schematics and technical manuals
  • Document service activities, test results, and maintain inventory of tools and equipment
  • Collaborate with senior technicians on upgrades and ensure compliance with safety and USAFA standards
  • Respond to service requests and support emergency repairs as needed
Qualifications:
  • 1–3 years of experience in electronics maintenance, troubleshooting, or installation
  • Associate degree in electronics, electrical engineering technology, or a related field preferred
  • Technical certifications in electronics, HVAC controls, or building automation systems are highly desirable
  • Familiarity with basic electronic theory, circuit analysis, and diagnostic tools
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
  • Basic understanding of electronic components, wiring, and system functionality
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Physical Requirements:Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance.   • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements:
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance for this position.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
