Job Description:OverviewThe Coder II, Inpatient is responsible for coding inpatient accounts with a balance less than $90,000 including Rehab and accounts that fall into the Inpatient Coder I category, performs the functions of coding, DRG assignment, collection of predefined indicators and abstracting medical records with a case mix greater than 1.5, provides timely and accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for reimbursement and specific information for statistical purposes. Remains current with recognized resources - AHA Coding Clinic and Official Coding Guidelines. Groups discharges utilizing the 3M encoder selecting the appropriate DRG for reimbursement.
