- Design AC/DC power converters
- Design DC/DC power converters
- Design power distribution architectures
- Design and analyze EMI filters
- Analyze analog/power circuits for stability, efficiency, power draw, in-rush, etc.
- Write specifications and test approaches for power supply circuit designs
- Select components for discrete power converter designs, or modules for systems
- Create schematics for analog/power circuits, support printed circuit card design
- Conduct and participate in internal peer design reviews, design verification testing of engineering units and oversight of design into production
- Perform analog and power testing in a laboratory setting for development components and circuit cards
- Work in conjunction with multi-disciplinary engineering teams for digital, RF, mechanical and systems engineers on the overall program/project performance
- Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant (Power Supply, Electrical Engineering) experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 12 years of prior related experience
- Experience with power conversion design, power analysis, analog circuit simulation, control loops and stabilization.
- Knowledge of high frequency magnetics design, development, and manufacturing.
- Demonstrated knowledge of AC/DC & DC/DC power converter design, build and test.
- Understanding of power analysis with MathCad, Excel or similar tools.
- Experience with electrical simulations using SIMPLIS and SPICE modeling tools.
- Experience with CAD tools (preferably Mentor Graphics) for schematic entry and layout.
- The individual must be able to work from oral and written instructions, be dependable, positive, assertive, a team player and have a strong desire to succeed.
- Great communications skills to expeditiously coordinate efforts through all phases of the engineering and manufacturing process while contributing to a high-performance team environment to meet customer needs.
- Willing to work overtime and weekends when required.
- Experience with common lab equipment
- Preferably able to obtain a US DoD security clearance
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-1399, and MIL-STD-461 is a plus.
- Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio software.
- Design experience in military or other ruggedized industries.
