- Supports, develops, organizes, and implements structural planning, analysis, preliminary and final design document preparation for transportation related building structures
- Project scoping and development
- Mentors team members in the development of design plans, technical oversight, specifications, design calculations, load ratings, cost estimates, reports, final bid packages, etc. Provides technical oversight and review of structural designs.
- Assists with project budgets and schedules
- Assists with proposals and presentations for rail/transit pursuits
- Extensive knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in structural engineering
- Must possess strong technical skills with knowledge of various building structural systems and codes
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrates excellence in verbal presentations and technical writing

- Proficiency in the use of structural engineering and BIM software such as STAAD.pro, RISA 3D, PCA Design Software, RAM Steel, Tekla, MathCAD, Revit, Microstation, and AutoCAD
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required, master’s degree preferred (may substitute for 1-2 years of experience)
- Minimum 5-8 years of structural engineering experience required
- Licensed PE (Professional Engineer) required, SE a strong plus
- Experience with renovations and new construction preferred
- Experience working on projects owned and operated by transit agencies such as MTA, Amtrak, and/or NJ Transit
- NYCT station experience preferred
- Familiarity with Design-Build and Design-Bid-Build project delivery
- OSHA 30 Construction certification preferred
