- Promoting sales through active discussions with guests, offering product recommendations, and discussing current promotions and service information. (Examples may include: asking guests if they need other products to accompany requested items, chatting about Yoke's signature items, fresh board and sweet deal suggestions, or providing information on recipes and products).
- Performing managerial duties in the absence of the Produce Manager including but not limited to the following: inventory, sales, and other bookwork required to monitor financial performance, ensuring the overall operations and profitability of the Produce Department, achieving company budget goals with regard to sales, labor and gross margin.
- Practicing Food Safety - Active Managerial Control for the Produce Department by being proactive at finding and preventing food safety risks, ensuring that Associates are properly trained in food safety practices. These practices include knowing personal health and illness symptoms to report to the management, proper hand washing when required, washing produce before cutting, and preventing cross contamination. Active Managerial Control requires management to assure Associates follow food safety requirements by checking their work and providing corrective action as needed.
- Directing, coordinating, and participating in closing, opening, culling, straightening, merchandising product, posting ads, displaying signage, rotating, stacking, touring department, setting dry product baskets, wet rack, and fruit racks, and cleans shelves, bins, tables, and coolers while upholding the production and presentation of fresh, quality products ensuring all products meets company specifications.
- Providing in-service training to all new personnel as assigned ensuring they learn exceptional guest service, special features and services offered by the Produce Department, and the proper and safe operations of all equipment used in the department:
- Services include, but are not limited to the following: cutting to sell half product, filling orders for special requests, assisting to find a solution, sampling produce when requested, offering samples when time allows, replacing produce or giving money back (100% guarantee).
- Special features include: large organic section, produce delivered daily, and support local growers.
- Equipment includes: com-line, phone, shrink wrapper, knives, box knives, pallet jack, baler, and trash compactor.

- Ensuring all work performed in the department is completed in accordance with all local, state, federal and company rules, regulations, and policies regarding workplace safety, food handling safety, sanitation/housekeeping standards, and guest services.
- Participating actively in the Produce Department's accident reduction plan including: monitoring sales floor and rugs for water, product, or other trip, slip, and fall hazards, and recognizing shelf order, safety features of all machinery, store evacuation plan, robbery policy, health codes for bleach, case temperatures, gloves, ice scoop, sink regulations, and storing regulations.
- Managing secondary supervisor who assists in supervising employees in the Produce Department.
- Supervising, coordinating, and evaluating the activities of associates in the Produce Department by performing all duties personally, or through secondary personnel.
- Performing supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance in a timely manner; rewarding, disciplining, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
