Job Summary/Basic Function
- Provide telecoaching and site visits for students who are completing practicum experiences in community programs.
- Maintain a caseload of approximately 20-30 students per semester. Estimated 10-25 hours a week, flexible scheduling, and work can be completed from home.
- Establish a coaching agreement with each student.
- Holds approximately three teleconference meetings with each student each semester.
- Support students with self-assessment and goal setting.
- Provide focused observational feedback based on student video & live observations.
- Hold a follow-up teleconference within three business days of video submission (observation).
- Provide written feedback within one week of the teleconference meeting or onsite observation.
- Collaborate with faculty to ensure student success.
- Familiarizes self with course outcomes, content, delivery, and assignments. This includes notifying faculty of progress and concerns, coordinating supports, and reviewing practicum evaluations, assignment feedback, and other related information to inform the coaching process.
- Collaborates with community programs, student and mentor teachers to proactively prevent problems, address issues that arise, and ensure a successful practicum experience.
- Mentor students who have graduated with online meetings approximately four times a year for one year after graduation.
- Bachelor degree in Early Childhood or closely related field
- 5 years experience as a lead teacher in an Early Childhood care and/or education settings
- 5 years experience as coach for in Early Childhood care and/or education settings
- Strong organizational skills including scheduling, coordinating services with faculty, tracking progress long term progress across multiple courses, follow-up communication.
- Proactive written and oral communication skills, including the ability to craft and ask questions that stimulate personal and professional growth of clients. Emotional listening and assertiveness when navigating difficult conversations.
- Track record of using creative and effective approaches to solving challenging coaching problems in a variety of circumstances.
- Ability to use multiple forms of technology, such as written and online video meetings, for delivery of professional coaching.
- Ability to establish productive relationships with clients from diverse cultural, racial, linguistic, and socioeconomic circumstances, and serve as an ally in addressing inequities.
- Understanding of approaches for supporting teacher/caregiver wellness and self-compassion.
- Master degree in EC or related field
- Teaching and coaching experience in a variety of Early Childhood care and/or education settings.
- Experience in online and video coaching
