- Manage and coordinate with minimal guidance and direction, cross functional projects focused on machining and assembly processes.
- Creating and updating documents and records that include routings, work instructions, control plans, problem-solving documentation, training plans, etc.
- Coordinate, with assistance, project budgets, resources, timelines, and milestones in accordance with best practices and WA required guidelines. May coordinate multiple large projects simultaneously.
- Apply Industrial strategies and methodologies to ensure processes, tools, and data are utilized to deliver business objectives and financial results.
- Work with a broad range of internal stakeholders across the business, ranging from executive leadership to direct employees. Always ensuring clear communication, healthy dialogue, and escalation as needed.
- Consistently represent and encourage a lean mindset and engage all employees in a way that encourages cultural transformation.
- Hands-on work on shop floor as job requires.
- Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled.
- Accountable for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance in assigned area. Responsible for design and operating effectiveness of internal controls, including a self-assessment and report to management.
- Accountable for developing and monitoring processes and practices necessary for legal and ethical compliance in assigned area.
- Work safely and without injury.
- Performs other various duties as may be assigned.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline required.
- Four-plus years of hands-on engineering in a metal-working manufacturing environment is required.
- Three or more years' experience in a high volume, automotive (IATF) manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated practice of manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement, and 5s principles.
- Demonstrated experience in machining, CNC controls, heat treat metallurgy, gauging/measurement
- Advanced or expert user of Microsoft tools: Word, Excel, Project, Planner, Outlook, Skype.
- Proven ability to effectively problem-solve, utilize statistical analysis, and interpret data for decision making.
- Strong command of project management tools and ability to utilize for successful project execution.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaboratively maintain effective working relationships. Including excellent interpersonal and communication skills required for interaction ranging from senior executives, direct employees, outside vendors to customers.
- Awareness and understanding of APQP, IATF, and automotive requirements that ensure quality product is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Lean/CI toolkit - value stream mapping, structured problem solving, demand pull, Kanban replenishment, takt time, kaizen team improvements, mistake-proofing, standard work combination template, current/target condition, kata coaching, etc.
- Must have history of impeccable integrity, ethics and fair play.
