Toolmakers also make job-specific fixtures and gauges and are responsible for precision machining and grinding.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesBuild new tools to meet engineering design criteria, piece part quality, and production requirementsManufacture spare components and verify sizing, fit, form, and function to ensure quality and production requirementsKeep tools running at optimal efficiency through sustained maintenance, repair, and modifications necessary to achieve production, quality, and customer requirementsImprove tool performance through analysis, troubleshooting, and technical problem solvingFabricate QC gauges and machine parts which require precision grinding and assemblyAttend training activities; train and help others as requiredParticipate in continual improvement teams and activities as required to improve safety, productivity, profitability, and efficiencyQualifications, Education, and ExperienceGraduation from high school or equivalent (GED)Completion of 4 years of apprenticeship in Tool & Die makingMinimum 5 years of experience in building stamping dies, form grinding, and using manual toolroom equipmentLocation: Shelton, CTCompany Overview:Founded in 2010, Top Prospect Group focuses on matching high-quality candidates with top clients while fostering an environment where success is shared by all.
