Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Preform aggregate sampling of production materials at mining sites and sampling of stockpiled aggregate materials at various pit locations.
  • Prepare samples for sieve analysis by sample reduction and drying of the sample.
  • Perform test procedures in the field or central lab on the aggregate materials and other related materials to ensure these materials meet NDDOT quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of test results
  • Maintain lab cleanliness and equipment maintenance.
  • Keep all samples tagged and organized.
  • Processing samples as per supervisor instructions.
Other Duties:
  • Uses various equipment, shakers and screens.
  • Move samples to cold storage/ keep storage clean and organized.
  • Performs lab clean-up.
  • Maintains all tools and equipment in a safe and clean condition.
  • Preform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree GED is preferred. Previous related experience in the construction field is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic Math and computer skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work overnight as needed.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting in a fast paced environment.
  • Standard Driver’s License is preferred.
  • MSHA and NDDOT Aggregate Tester Certification are a plus but not required
