  • Follows Operating Discipline principles, procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned plant areas.
  • Uses process knowledge and skills to create, modify and improve operating discipline procedures and practices to improve plant performance.
  • Operates and field checks process equipment. Monitors process conditions, equipment, and control systems.
  • Performs tasks assigned to operations per Master Task List (e.g. field checks, equipment preparation, samples, etc.).
  • Ensures operational activities and process performance are aligned with plant and business goals.
  • Uses process knowledge and skills to coach and train others on plant operations.
  • Actively participates on plant teams, and in other plant improvement projects.
  • Performs process equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements and preventive maintenance utilizing the appropriate work processes and disciplines.
  • With the appropriate knowledge, skills and qualifications, candidates will be expected to perform any task that is needed to support the operation or maintenance of a chemical plant.
Requirements
  • A minimum of an Associate Degree in a relevant field OR a High School Diploma/GED and 3+ years of military experience OR High School Diploma/GED and 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Must be able to work a rotating shift. Which is 12-hour shift days and nights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Must have a current, valid US driver’s license.
  • Must have good computer and technical skills in order to learn how to operate both manual and highly automated equipment.
  • Must be able to learn and have the ability to perform preventative maintenance and be able to make preliminary diagnoses, i.e. issues with pumps, motors, valves, etc.
  • Must be an individual of high initiative, who can organize, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks during the workday.
  • Must demonstrate personal accountability and leadership to ensure a safe work environment by complying with health, safety, and environmental standards. Must also hold others accountable for doing so.
  • Must have the ability to learn complex chemical manufacturing processes, and the ability to analyze, understand, and resolve technical problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a desire to learn and grow technical skills to keep current with new automation and process Technology.
  • Good interpersonal skills are required.
  • Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Skills
  • An Associate Degree in Process Technology, Industrial Engineering, Instrumentation and/or Electrical, or Computer Technology is preferred.
  • Chemical manufacturing experience as a Production Technician.
  • Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting, maintenance, diagnosing and repairing experience.
  • Prior experience working in an outside environment.
  • Proficiency in reading trends and graphs of real-time data.
  • Understanding of computer code.

Physical Requirements
  • Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes.
  • Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Work in tight or closed-in spaces.
  • Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground.
  • Ability to work comfortably and safely at elevated heights. Candidates must be familiar with, or willing to undergo training in, the proper usage and maintenance of safety equipment to ensure safe movement and operations at heights.
