Start Date: ASAPWe are seeking a CNC Machinist and Programmer for a Direct-Hire position with our client, a reputable metal forgery, located in Albany, Oregon. The CNC Machinist will play an essential role in setting up and operating a variety of milling machines and lathes. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on their feet all day. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a wholesome facility and further your career in this industry, located in Albany, OR.As a CNC Machinist and Programmer, you will be responsible for:
- Setting up and operating manual lathes, mills, and surface grinders
- Ensuring maximum production output rates are being achieved and submitting recommendations to increase efficiencies
- Developing, preparing, and optimizing CNC programs
- Proofing CNC programs for each planned operation through simulation or tests
- Training and instructing CNC machinists on program operation
- Understanding feed rates, cutting speeds, and depth of cuts
- Using precision measuring hand tools to ensure parts meet specifications
- 5+ years of experience operating CNC machines and lathes
- Proficiency in MasterCAM
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and specification
- Experience programming and maintaining setup on machines
- Strong knowledge of metal properties
- Ability to operate forklifts and other manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs consistently and stand for long periods.
- Proficiency in shop math
