- Closely work with DAL managers and supervisors to ensure understanding and compliance with all project requirements.
- Oversee or directly prepare appropriate calculations, field work plans, documentation for project installation, lift plans, hydrotest plans.
- Write daily, weekly and monthly status reports and submit to Project Manager for inclusion in client reports.
- Function as a technical expert for project field team for interpretation of project design documents, applicable codes, laws and regulations.
- Ensure vital and important records are retained and kept current for inclusion in document turnover packages.
- Frequent communication with Executive and Sr. management, project field team leaders, and client supervision.
- Timely preparation and submittal of accurate fabrication drawings.
- Assist or lead preparing defining Scopes of Work for Request For Proposal packages that are issued to potential subcontractors.
- Review and provide oversight on project schedule development, maintenance
- Prepare all as-built drawings for official project documentation turnover to client.
- Ensure applicable client requirements are incorporated into project processes and procedures, coordinate with Quality Control to verify documentation is being completed per corporate policy.
- Understand contract provisions which address scope of work, design criteria and DAL compensation.
- Coordinate with client technical authorities to obtain interpretations of technical requirements and to resolve related issues.
- Understand the importance of safety and quality workmanship and continually take proactive measures so all construction activities meet or exceed corporate and client criteria and standards.
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with client’s technical authorities, project supervision and all other personnel and departments associated with DAL projects.
- Ability to work and comply to existing corporate policies, standards, and expectations.

- Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Chemical Engineering, Construction Management or related and equivalent experience.
- 5-8 years of experience in project construction engineering on arctic oil & gas pipeline projects.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare project cost estimates and schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare scopes of work, performing construction feasibility reviews, and managing change.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing people and processes.
- Ability to work in a team environment, take directions from supervisor(s), high degree of attention to details, follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules.
- Well-balanced interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of API 1104, AWS D1.1, ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.4
- Ability to read and accurately interpret project specifications in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to read maps, pipeline surveys, drawings, mechanical flow sheets, spool drawings and all other design criteria.
- Ability to write highly complex reports and business correspondence and understand such reports and correspondence when received from other sources.
- Ability to apply mathematical operation to such tasks and frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor.
- Ability to apply intermediate mathematical skills including algebraic equations, fractions and volume metric measures.
- Ability to understand and interpret graphs, charts and tables.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong ability to professionally explain reasons on differences of opinion with project supervision and technical authorities.
- Ability to understand and interpret safety and environmental programs, quality control and quality assurance plans and all other engineering and technical data.
- Depending on size, number and complexity of simultaneously jobs, this position may supervise other Engineers.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40+ pounds.
- May be required to stand, sit, or walk for reasonable periods of time.
- Operate personal computer for extended periods.
- Work extended hours (scheduled and/or unscheduled, nights and/or weekends), occasionally, as needed or required to meet established deadlines.
- Work outdoors in weather extremes and near equipment with potentially high noise levels.
- Must have valid driver’s license with good driving record.
- Must pass a drug and alcohol test
