Mechanicville City School District is looking for qualified and compassionate Substitute School Nurses to join our team. The Substitute School Nurse will be responsible for providing temporary health services to students and staff in the absence of the regular school nurse. This role involves responding to medical emergencies, administering medications, and maintaining a healthy school environment.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide temporary nursing care to students, including assessing, treating, and managing medical conditions as needed.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician, following school district policies.
  • Respond to emergencies, injuries, and accidents, providing first aid or medical care as required.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential health records for students, including documenting treatments and incidents.
  • Support students with special health needs or chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, allergies, diabetes) during the nurse's absence.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding health-related issues.
  • Ensure compliance with state health regulations and school policies during the temporary assignment.
  • Promote a healthy and safe school environment for all students and staff.
